Scoring Wi-Fi: Easy Scoring & Management
Welcome to the Scoring Wi-Fi application, a widely used, affordable, and user-friendly solution for managing tournaments worldwide. This document covers the features and operations of both the server and client components of the application.
Introduction
The Scoring Wi-Fi PRO server marks the next generation in wireless electronic scoring software, revolutionizing Martial Arts competitions worldwide. Building on over a decade of expertise, our latest release, Version 7.6.10, delivers unprecedented functionality, offering 4 times the value at the same affordable price. This is more than a minor update – it opens new possibilities for managing multiple competition formats, including Poomsae, Kata, and Kumite. It also supports a wide range of competition rules for sports such as BJJ (Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu), Judo, and MMA (Mixed Martial Arts).
With the release of version 7.7.6, now officially named Scoring Wi-Fi Ultra Edition, our tournament management system takes a significant leap forward. This latest version goes beyond traditional local tournament management by introducing robust online capabilities. The new Tournament Online Portal is a game-changer for organizers, providing a seamless platform to enhance communication with participants. This portal allows organizers to effortlessly publish tournament information, send notifications, and share results in real-time.
By integrating these online features, Scoring Wi-Fi Ultra Edition ensures a more efficient and engaging experience for both organizers and participants. This marks the first step in our ongoing process to streamline the entire tournament experience. These additions not only enhance operational efficiency but also bolster confidence among our customers by demonstrating our commitment to innovation and continual improvement. We assure our customers that their investment in Scoring Wi-Fi Ultra Edition is well-placed, as we remain dedicated to delivering cutting-edge solutions that meet their evolving needs and provide long-term value.
For the first time, Karate Kata and Kumite scoring systems are fully integrated into the server, alongside Taekwondo Poomsae. These additions are powered by our state-of-the-art Rules-Pro Points Processor, a battle-tested engine that supports real-time scoring with impeccable accuracy. With this upgrade, the Scoring Wi-Fi PRO system becomes a unified solution for diverse martial arts tournaments, handling complex rule sets with ease.
Our newly designed mobile referee interface provides a streamlined, user-friendly experience that accommodates the intricate scoring needs of Forms competitions. Whether judging Poomsae or Kata, referees can quickly and accurately submit scores using the app’s intuitive design, available on both iOS and Android. These enhancements come at no extra cost to existing users, continuing our commitment to delivering superior value.
The system also introduces support for Karate Kumite, a unique scoring system distinct from Taekwondo sparring. Though fundamentally different, Kumite’s rules integrate seamlessly with our existing real-time scoring infrastructure, allowing organizers to manage multiple formats from a single interface. Our vision is to create a universal scoring system for martial arts, streamlining the organization of tournaments while maintaining affordability for all clubs.
Beyond just software, we are fostering a community-driven approach. The new Martial Arts Forum provides a collaborative space for tournament organizers and referees to share ideas, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to the ongoing evolution of the Scoring Wi-Fi PRO system. Whether you're seeking help or offering solutions, this platform is designed to enhance the user experience, building on our shared knowledge and passion for the sport. As we say: Sharing is caring!
The Scoring Wi-Fi PRO system consists of the following core components:
- Score Server: The backbone of the system, responsible for managing tournaments, handling registrations, setting up draws, brackets, and delivering electronic scoring in real time. This component integrates seamlessly with other modules, ensuring smooth operation across different competition types.
- Mobile Referee App: A powerful mobile application that enables referees to score matches in real time using any iOS or Android device. With the app’s clean, responsive design, referees can focus on judging rather than struggling with technology. The app is optimized for both sparring and forms competitions, providing a robust interface for scoring in various formats.
- Live Remote Score Display: A web-based scoreboard designed to display match scores in real-time on screens around the venue. This feature enhances the spectator experience, ensuring that everyone, from participants to audiences, stays updated on match progress as it happens. It’s easy to deploy and works on any device with a browser.
- Online Tournament Portal: A dedicated web portal that allows organizers to publish tournament schedules, results, and live updates in real time. With just a click of a mouse, organizers can instantly update scores, match outcomes, and tournament progress. Participants and spectators can access the portal from anywhere, ensuring transparency and seamless information access throughout the event. The portal is designed for simplicity, enabling efficient management of tournament details without technical hassle.
We are committed to delivering continuous innovation while keeping costs minimal, empowering all martial arts organizations to benefit from our technology. As we move forward, we invite the Martial Arts community to contribute to our mission by promoting and sharing the Scoring Wi-Fi system with clubs and organizations worldwide.

How it Works
Martial Arts Scoring Wi-Fi PRO Client - Wireless Mobile Referee
This mobile app is used by referees to submit points in real-time across various martial arts and combat sports, including taekwondo sparring, poomsae, kumite, kata in karate, MMA, BJJ, judo, and more.
The mobile referee application enables automatic scoring, featuring an advanced vibration mode that informs users about successful scores, device errors, or network disconnections. These advanced functions enhance accuracy and help referees focus on the game, eliminating ambiguity.
The response time of the mobile referee software is incredibly fast, responding in real-time to any commands. All taps and swipes are instantly converted into scores for body kicks, head kicks, and turning kicks.
The system is easier to install and set up than others, allowing it to be used anywhere and anytime as needed.
- Vibration notifications: Provides feedback on strikes.
- No Internet connection required: Wi-Fi or Bluetooth in your mobile devices enables communication with the server.
- No special training required: Referees can use their own familiar mobile devices.
- No additional hardware investment: Mobile phones, iPads, iPods, or any tablets can be used as referee controllers.
Important Note: You can create a cluster of servers if more than one court is needed for a tournament. When servers share the same database, this setup helps avoid duplicate data entry and allows athletes to compete on any court without being tied to a specific one.
Important Reminder: The Mobile Client's button layout is fully configurable, driven by the server, and automatically loaded from the server upon startup. Therefore, it is crucial to start the server before starting the clients. This is a significant improvement over the previous release, where the button layout was hardcoded directly into the Mobile Referee application. With the new PRO version, server administrators can customize the button layout according to their needs.
Introducing the Martial Arts Scoring Wi-Fi Ultra Server
The Scoring Wi-Fi Ultra Server is the latest and most advanced component in our scoring system, designed to seamlessly receive and analyze messages from referees, converting them into accurate points in real time.
As the third generation of our score processing technology, the Scoring Wi-Fi Ultra boasts unparalleled performance and precision. Valid points are recorded instantly and made publicly available through our newly redesigned scoring processor, known as Rules-Plus.
This innovative server evaluates messages from referees based on customizable settings, taking into account the area of the kick (body or head) and the type of kick (including turning kicks) to award extra points. Additionally, it tracks synchronization time to ensure fairness and accuracy.
For example, for Taekwondo sparring, valid points are determined as follows according to World Taekwondo (WT) recommendations:
- One (1) point: for a valid attack on the trunk protector
- Two (2) points: for a valid turning kick to the trunk protector
- Three (3) points: for a valid kick to the head
- Four (4) points: for a valid turning kick to the head
- One (1) point: for a valid punch
Important Note: The above examples are specific to Taekwondo. The controller and server are fully customizable, allowing for tailored point allocations based on different techniques and sport-specific requirements for each competition type.
With the introduction of the Scoring Wi-Fi Pro, we reinforce our commitment to enhancing the accuracy and efficiency of scoring in martial arts, building on the successes of the previous Scoring Wi-Fi and Scoring Wi-Fi Pro servers.
Martial Arts Scoring Wi-Fi Remote Display
If you want to display the score on a remote screen, the solution is simple.
